Casio protrek 3510

If the ambient light fades, a turn of your wrist illuminates the watch display particularly brightly and in coulor. Even temperatures as low as -10 °C have no effect on this watch. A solar cell provides power for operation. Whether in Europe, North America and Japan or in the outer reaches of Canada, Central America and China - once the watch has been set to the local time, it receives the relevant signal and shows the correct time wherever you are. In many countries, it also sets itself automatically to summer and winter time. A built-in direction sensor detecs the magnetic north. A special sensor measures the air pressure (measuring range: 260/1100 hPa) and presents this on the display in the form of a symbol. This enables early detection of weather trends. A pressure sensor detects changes in the air pressure and converts the result into an altitude up to 10,000 m. The height gain sums all the meters you have climbed in a session, so that you can see at a glance the total ascent on a tour. Depending on the model, up to 40 sets of elevation data can be stored in the watch`s data memory and re-accessed at any time. Each of these data sets consists of a measured altitude as well as the date and time. In addition to the individual altitudes, the maximum and minimum altitudes during a measurement are also stored. After entering the geographical location, sunrise and sunset times can be displayed for any given date. Displays the current time in major cities and specific areas around the world. Elapsed time, split time and final time are measured with 1/10-sec accuracy. The watch can measure times of up to 1000 hours. For fans of precision: the countdown timers help you to remember specific or recurring events by giving off an audible signal at a preset time. The time can be set to the nearest minute and up to 24 hours in advance. Ideal for people who need to take medicines every day or those who do interval training. The daily alarm reminds you about recurring events with an acoustic signal at the time you have set. This model has 5 independent alarms for flexible reminders of important appointments. Each time you stop the alarm, it sounds again after a few minutes. The button tones for using the mode button can be turned off. This means that the watch no longer beeps when switching from one function to another. Preset alarm or countdown timers remain active when the button tones are deactivated. Once set, the automatic calendar always displays the correct date. Times can be displayed in either a 12-hour or 24-hour format. This bezel can be used to determine approximate directions. The tough mineral glass resists scratching. Synthetic resin is the ideal material for wrist straps thanks to its extremely durable and flexible properties. An indicator shows the current battery level. Perfect for free diving without scuba gear: the watch is water resistant up to 20 bar according to ISO 22810. Availability of models and/or lineups may differ depending on the country or region. Technical amendments and errors excepted. The sizes in figures do not correspond to the original sizes. The colours may differ slightly from the original.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect! I purchased the PRW-3510-1ER (the Euro version as opposed the the Japanese version) They are 100% identical. They have the exact same construction and electronic module (3444). I paid $240 for it shipped to my door in Michigan from Spain. This is the most I have ever spent on a watch and it is well worth it. It is the fourth watch I have ever bought and all four were Casio. Three of the four I still have. To clear up the misinformation, all Casio watches with the 3444 module like this one can be set to read in imperial units (F/ft/inHg) as long as you don`t have your time zone set for Tokyo. You can find the Module 3444 manual online and look it up for yourself. The negative screen is easy to read. The compass is spot on and is default set to magnetic North which you can change. The barometer and altimeter seem to track accurately (these can also be calibrated.) The thermometer seems to be accurate while not being worn due to body heat, but can be calibrated to more accurately give you the temperature while you are wearing it. The sunset and sun rise is defaulted to you time zone, but can be set more accurately by inputting your longitude and latitude which is really cool. I have had no issues with it being undercharged being solar even while working on night shifts. I managed to charge it from medium to high in about half of a minute using my flash light. I haven`t been this excited or interested in watches since I had my Casio that could control tv`s and vcr`s about 15 years ago. It doesn`t feel any bulkier than my previous G-shock although slightly heavier. I have had no accidental button presses due to its design. This watch is amazing and I would buy it all over again!

Miniature built-in sensors take highly accurate readings of direction, atmospheric pressure/temperatures and altitudes and indicate the measurement values with an analogue hand and LCD. They detect changes in natural phenomena immediately to support users in making appropriate responses. This proprietary CASIO solar-powered battery-recharging system assures stable operation of various power-hungry functions, including dial lighting, alarms, stopwatches and measurement functions. This radio-controlled timekeeping technology can receive standard time-calibration signals from all 6 transmission stations worldwide and correct the time for the North American, European, Chinese and Japanese regions. For quick, easy data confirmation, even in the dark or with both hands occupied. You need both hands for many outdoor activities, and you don`t always have one free to illuminate your watch face in low-light conditions. The Auto Light Switch solves this problem by illuminating the light whenever you turn your wrist to bring the watch into the viewing position. Display visibility has been improved by adoption of a dot matrix STN LCD panel. A hand retraction function is also installed to prevent overlapping hands from obstructing the LCD in the Timekeeping mode by temporarily retracting the hands from above the LCD. Knowing the time remaining before sunset helps you to schedule climbs to assure a safe descent, or to determine the appropriate time to wake up or pitch a tent. An atmospheric pressure tendency alarm has been installed to alert wearers to any notable change. World time for 48 cities including Kathmandu, Nepal An abrasion-resistant sapphire crystal assures a clear view of the dial at all times. Designed for quick measurement with a single push, the buttons can be operated without taking gloves off. This band is made of urethane components that have metal inserts, and fine resin components. A double-lock buckle has a slide adjustment mechanism. A register ring for easy recording of target directions is installed, further underscoring outdoor-gear styling. Despite the bands soft feel that made by silicon, it remains highly resistant to tearing and abrasion. Large screws are employed to attach the band to the case, reinforcing the strength of the connection.
